Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Gets Teased by Flipkart Ahead of August 9 Launch
Flipkart has started teasing the upcoming Samsung Unpacked event on August 9, where the company is set to unveil the Galaxy Note 9. The 'Notify Me' page is now live on the Flipkart app.Samsung is gearing up to launch its next-generation Galaxy Note series flagship at an Unpacked event in New York City on August 9th.
A recent report had claimed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 could be launched in India a week after its global debut. The upcoming Galaxy flagship has now been spotted on the Flipkart app, suggesting that it could be launched as a Flipkart-exclusive in India.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9: Flipkart Exclusive in India?
Flipkart has added a dedicated panel for the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, complete with official teasers that focus on the Galaxy Note 9’s battery life, storage, and processor. You can also register to be notified once the device has been launched.
Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S8 duo in India as Flipkart-exclusives, while the Galaxy Note 8 was launched in the country as an Amazon-exclusive. This year, however, it looks like Samsung has decided to partner with Flipkart for both its Galaxy S9 as well as Galaxy Note 9 devices in India. It is rumored that the Galaxy Note 9 may go up for pre-order in India starting August 19. It is expected to go on sale starting from the first week of September.
In the camera department, the Galaxy Note 9 could offer a 12MP + 12MP dual-camera setup with a few significant improvements compared to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus from earlier this year. Connectivity-wise, we can expect the Galaxy Note 9 to support all the latest connectivity standards including Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, NFC, ANT+, USB 3.1 Type-C, and 4G VoLTE. The Galaxy Note 9 will also feature an improved S Pen with Bluetooth connectivity, an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a large 4000mAh capacity battery supporting wired and wireless fast charging. In terms of software, the smartphone will run on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with the latest iteration of Samsung’s Experience UX on top.

While the Galaxy Note 8 was launched in India at Rs.67,900 last year, the Galaxy Note 9 is rumored to be priced somewhere between Rs.70,000 and Rs.75,000 in India. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is rumored to arrive with a 6.4-inch dual-curved Super AMOLED Infinity Display featuring Quad HD+ reolution and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. In terms of design, however, the Galaxy Note 9 will not be very different from its predecessor, except for a few minor differences. Under the hood, Galaxy Note 9 is tipped to run on Samsung’s in-house developed Exynos 9810 octa-core 10nm processor in India and most other global markets. In the US, on the other hand, the Galaxy Note 9 could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or 855 processor. In the memory department, the phablet is expected to feature 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
